How to Send Mail or Package

Correspondence can be sent to inmates housed in the Transylvania County Jail. All incoming mail must have the sender’s complete name and return address on the envelope. It must also be sent through the US Post Office. To send mail to an inmate, please address it in the following manner:

Funds can be deposited into an inmate’s account by dropping off money at the detention center during business hours which run from 8am to 8pm.

Visitation Hours

Visitation is a privilege granted to inmates housed in the Transylvania County Jail. Visitation is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am to 11am, 1pm to 3pm, and 7pm to 8pm.
Each inmate is allowed 1 30-minute visit per week. Inmates must submit a list of 5 visitors on their authorized visitation list every 30 days. Visitors must bring a valid ID in order to visit. Individuals under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a legal guardian or parent at all times.

Each inmate has a record that displays their name, photo, race, sex, physical description, charges, admit time and date, and bond amount.
