The Sheriff’s Office oversees the operations of the Alamance County Detention Centers. These facilities provide a safe, secure, and humane environment for individuals who have been charged or convicted of criminal or civil offenses. The detention centers employ 150 people within its four divisions – platoons, personnel/support, facilities/maintenance, and administration.
The original detention center has a capacity of 156 beds while its Annex has 80 beds. The new Alamance County Detention Center, on the other hand, can house 240 inmates, bringing the overall total number of beds to 476.
