How to Send Mail or Package
Inmates housed in the Beaufort County Detention Center have the privilege of receiving mail from family members and friends. All incoming mail is inspected by the staff before getting delivered to the inmates. To send mail to an inmate, make sure to include the inmate’s full name as well as the full return name and return address. Greeting cards are not permitted. Any books should be sent directly from the publisher. The mail should be addressed as follows:

Inmates may also receive money to allow them to purchase Commissary items. To send money to an inmate, please visit JailATM.com and create a user account. Select the Beaufort County Jail from the facility menu and search for the inmate’s last name or ID. The account accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit/debit cards.
Visitation Hours
Inmates confined at the Beaufort County Detention Center are allowed one onsite visit per designated visitation day. Only 3 visitors are allowed per inmate. All visitors must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid photo ID. Visitors are required to dress appropriately and will be subject to a search for contraband. The visitation hours are as follows:
Last names (of inmates) that begin with A – M Saturdays 2-4pm
Last names (of inmates) that begin with N – Z Sundays 2-4pm
Family members and friends can also choose remote video visitation through JailATM.com. Please note that visits cost $0.40 per minute. Visits need to be scheduled one day before. Each inmate is only allowed one remote video visitation per weekend. Each remove video visit is limited to 15 minutes. The schedule for remote video visitation is as follows:
Inmates with a last name that begins with A-M:
Saturday 12pm to 4pm
Inmates with a last name that begins with N-Z:
Sunday 12pm to 4pm

You can obtain copies of public records by submitting a request to the right department or agency. Copies of court records such as criminal cases, civil cases, estate cases, divorce judgments, and special proceedings can be requested at the Clerk of Court’s office. Copies of vital records as well as real estate records are available at the Register of Deeds office. For a copy of a police report, you can submit a request to the law enforcement agency involved.
