The Pitt County Detention Center is responsible for housing sentenced and unsentenced individuals for local law enforcement agencies. How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates housed in the Pitt County Detention Center may receive mail from family members and friends. All incoming mail must have a complete return address and the full name of the sender. It should be addressed in the following manner:

Funds may be deposited into an inmate’s account by sending money orders, certified checks, and cashier checks via mail. Make sure to make them payable to the inmate, using the name under which they are booked. Deposits can also be done using the kiosk located in the lobby of the Magistrate’s Office in the detention center. Take note that there is a convenience fee of $3.25 for using this service. Deposits can also be made online by visiting the JailATM website.

Visitation Hours

Inmates at the Pitt County Detention Center are granted the privilege of visitation. All visits are non-contact and make use of video monitors. Visits need to be scheduled up to 24 hours in advance. Scheduling a visit can be done online by visiting the Homewav website.

On-site visitation hours:
Saturday and Sunday
1:00pm–3:45pm
Inmates with the last name that begins with A – K will visit on Saturday and inmates with the last name that begins with L – Z will visit on Sunday.

Off-Site Video Visitation hours:
Monday through Sunday
7:00am –9:30pm

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office maintains an online database of all inmates currently housed in the facility. The records can be searched using the inmate’s name, booking number, and/or date in custody. Each inmate’s record shows his/her complete name, photo, address, date of birth, gender, race, weight, height, and charges.
