The Haywood County Detention Center is responsible for providing secure housing for male and female individuals who are in the custody of the Sheriff’s Office. It has a total capacity of 150 beds. It may have as many as 110 inmates housed in the main facility with up to 40 work-release and minimum custody inmates held in the Annex. The facility can be found in the Haywood County Law Enforcement Center at 1620 Brown Avenue in Waynesville.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates at the Haywood County Detention Center are allowed to communicate with family and friends through email which is provided by Combined Public Communications. They may deposit funds into an inmate’s account for telephone and email services using the kiosk located in the lobby of the Law Enforcement Center. They may also deposit money by visiting the website.

For commissary purchases, family members and friends may deposit money into an inmate’s account using the kiosk located in the lobby of the Law Enforcement Center. They may use cash, debit, or credit cards. Deposits can also be made by visiting the JailATM website.

Visitation Hours

Inmates at the Haywood County Detention Center are allowed visitation. All visits are by appointment only. Visits are scheduled by calling Combined Public Communications at (866) 340-7879. You may call between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, or 2 p.m. through 6 p.m. Saturdays, eastern standard time. All visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. In order to visit, you will need to be on the inmate’s approved list. Only five names can be added onto the list. The visitation schedule is as follows:

A-Pod & Annex: Mondays 6:00 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Dorm: Wednesdays 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
B-Pod: Thursdays 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
C-Pod: Sundays 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
D-Pod: Saturdays 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
