Edgecombe County Court

The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office oversees the daily operations of two jails – the Edgecombe County Detention Center and the Detention Center Annex. These facilities are used to house individuals awaiting trial or serving sentences. The Detention Center can be found along Anaconda Road. It can hold up to 255 inmates. The Annex, on the other hand, is located inside the courthouse at 301 St. Andrews Street. It can hold up to 93 inmates.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates at the Edgecombe County Detention Center may receive mail from family and friends. All incoming mail, except for privileged mail, is opened and inspected for contraband. Mail that does not include the sender’s complete name and address will be returned. To send mail to an inmate, make sure to address it in the following manner:

Visitation Hours

Due to COVID-19, in-person visits have been suspended until further notice at the Edgecombe County Detention Center. Instead, inmates can visit with family members and friends through video visitation. Each inmate is allowed up to 6 visits per day. Each visit is 15 minutes long and costs $4.50. You can schedule two 15-minute visits back to back or spread out during the day. To schedule a visit, you can visit iwebvisit.com.
