The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office manages three detention facilities – the Greensboro Detention Center, the High Point Detention Center, and the Sheriff’s Prison Farm. An estimated 19,000 inmates are booked each year in these facilities. The combined average daily population of all three is over 800 inmates.
How to Send Mail or Package
Inmates at the three detention facilities may receive general correspondence from family and friends. However, they all must be sent to their respective mail processing centers. For inmates housed in the Greensboro Detention Center, the mail should be addressed in the following manner:
Guilford County Detention – Greensboro
Inmate Name, Inmate ID number
PO Box 2925
PMB 79078
San Antonio, TX 78299-2925
For inmates in the High Point Detention Center, it should be addressed in this format:
Guilford County Detention – High Point
Inmate Name, Inmate ID number
PO Box 2925
PMB 79078
San Antonio, TX 78299-2925
All non-legal mail must include the sender’s complete name and return address. Otherwise, it will not be scanned. Mail that has insufficient postage will be sent back. Once the mail is scanned, the inmate will be able to access it using the inmate tablets.
Funds may be deposited into an inmate’s account using the Jail ATM kiosk located in the lobbies of both detention centers. The ATM accepts cash, debit cards, and credit cards. The kiosk at the Greensboro facility is open 24/7 while the one in the High Point Detention Center is only available Mondays through Fridays from 8am to 5pm. Deposits can also be made online by visiting the Jail ATM website. Cashier’s checks and money orders may be mailed to an inmate.
