The Stanly County Detention Center is a facility that houses sentenced and unsentenced individuals that were arrested by local law enforcement. The facility can house up to 133 inmates. It features 5 inmate housing blocks, a medical station, booking and releasing areas, administration offices, and a public lobby as well as a visitation area.

How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates housed in the Stanly County Detention Center may receive correspondence from family members and friends. All incoming mail must have the complete name and return address of the sender on the envelope. It must also be addressed using the name that the inmate was booked under. To send correspondence to an inmate, please address it in the following manner:

The Stanly County Detention Center allows its inmates to receive funds for their commissary purchases. Family and friends may use the kiosk located in the main lobby of the detention center. It is available for use on Mondays and Fridays from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. It is also available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm. A service fee of $3 is charged for every transaction. Deposits can also be made online by visiting the JailATM website which only accepts credit cards.

Visitation Hours

Inmates housed in the Stanly County Detention Center are granted the privilege of visitation. All visits are non-contact video visits. Each inmate is allowed one 15-minute on-site visit per week which starts every Tuesday. Inmates are also allowed an unlimited number of online visits which has a cost. Visits need to be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance, but no sooner than 7 days in advance. The on-site visitation times are as follows:

Tuesdays: Inmates workers (trusties) and inmates with the last name between A-L

Wednesdays: Female inmates only, Female inmates workers are allowed two (2) visits.

Thursdays: Inmate workers (trusties) and inmates with the last name between M – Z

Evening(s): 6:00 pm, 6:20 pm, 6:40 pm, 7:00 pm, 7:20 pm, 7:40 pm

The Stanly County Sheriff’s Office maintains an online database of all inmates currently detained in its facility. Each inmate has a profile which shows his/her photo, complete name, age, race/sex, arrest date, release date, court date, charges, and bond.

The Sheriff’s Office also posts its Most Wanted online. Each individual on this list is shown with his/her complete name, photo, race, age, sex, and the reason why they are wanted by law enforcement. The Stanly County Sheriff’s Office is the chief law enforcement agency in the area. It is made up of several divisions such as Administration, Detectives, Patrol, Court Division Bailiffs, and Honor Guard. Sheriff Jeff Crisco heads the agency. Chief Deputy Ashley Thompson serves as his second-in-command.

Stanly County Public Records Information
