Rowan County Court, NC

The Rowan County Detention Center houses pre-trial inmates and those serving sentences. It is a direct supervision facility that features dormitory style housing units. Combined with the Annex, the facility can hold up to 370 inmates. The detention center is located at 115 W Liberty Street in Salisbury, North Carolina.

How to Send Mail or Package

Family and friends can send mail to an inmate detained in the Rowan County Detention Center. All mail must include the inmate’s ID number as well as the sender’s return address. Letters need to have no more than 10 pages. Pictures cannot be larger than 4×6 inches. Polaroid photos are not allowed. To send mail to an inmate, please follow the format below:

Visitation Hours

Inmates housed in the Rowan County Detention Center are allowed one visit per week. Visits need to be scheduled 24 hours in advance, but no more than 2 weeks in advance. Visits can be scheduled online at www.videovisitanywhere.com. You can also call 1-877-578-3658 Monday thru Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm or use the kiosk located in the jail annex to schedule a visit. On-site visits are conducted between 8:00am and 10:00pm, Sunday thru Saturday.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office maintains an online list of all the inmates currently in their custody. The list is arranged alphabetically by last name. Each inmate’s record shows his/her complete name, primary charge, arrest date, booking agency, photo, race/sex, age, and bond amount.

The Sheriff’s Office also posts its Most Wanted Persons on its website. The page displays each individual’s name, photo, physical characteristics, scars/marks/tatoos, age, race, sex, and the reason why they are wanted by law enforcement.
