How to Send Mail or Package
Inmates confined in the Catawba County Detention Center are allowed to receive mail. Letters must be written on white paper with the exception of legal mail. All incoming mail, including greeting cards, will be scanned, making them viewable on the inmate kiosk. The incoming general mail envelopes will not be given to the inmate. Photos can be sent, but they must not be larger than 4×6 inches. Inmates can only have three photos in their possession. Family and friends can also send a one-minute video message to the inmate for a small fee through the HomeWav website. To send general correspondence to an inmate, you may address it in the following manner:

Family and friends can deposit funds into an inmate’s account in three ways. They can mail a US Postal Service or bank money order to the inmate. They can deposit money using the ATM located in the lobby of the detention facility. They can also visit the jailpackstore website.
Visitation Hours
Inmates confined at the Catawba County Detention Facility are allowed visitation. All visitors need to register with Homewav. Visits need to be scheduled by visiting the Homewav website, using the Homewav app, or by calling 1-844-394-6639. Visits need to be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance and must be approved by the inmate. Each inmate is allowed one 15-minute visit per week.

The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office maintains an online database of all individuals currently housed in the Detention Facility. The inmates on the list are arranged alphabetically according to last names. The information on the list includes the inmate’s complete name, photo, date confined, address, age, charges, bond amount, court date, court docket, and agency involved.
