How to Send Mail or Package

Inmates at the Halifax County Detention Center may receive mail from family and friends. Except for privileged mail, all incoming mail is opened and inspected for contraband. There must be a return name and address included. To send mail to an inmate, please follow the format below:

Funds may be deposited into an inmate’s account using the kiosk located in the lobby of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office. You may also deposit money online by visiting the store.jailpackstore.com website. Please note that there are fees sfor using this service. Visitation Hours

Inmates at the Halifax County Detention Center are allowed visitation through a service provided by Homewav. No face-to-face visitation is allowed. On-site visitation is conducted using video monitors. The schedule is Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 4pm. Off-site video visitation is held from Monday through Sunday from 7am to 9:30pm. Scheduling a visit may be done using the kiosk located at the Halifax County Detention Center visitation room. or online by visiting the Homewav website. Each on-site video visit can be 10 to 20 minutes long, once a week. Off-site video visits are unlimited but will depend on the availability due to scheduling.

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office maintains an online list of all the inmates housed in its detention facility. The list is searchable based on the name of the inmate, charges, or number of days they’ve been detained. Each inmate’s profile includes his photo, name, race, sex, vital statistics, admit date and time, and charges.
