The Lee County Jail is the main detention facility in the county. It houses individuals who have been charged and are awaiting trial as well as those serving sentences. It has a daily average population of 124 inmates and approximately 2480 bookings per year. The facility is located at 1401 Elm Street in Sanford, North Carolina.
How to Send Mail or Package
Inmates housed in the Lee County Jail may receive mail from family members and friends. All incoming mail must include the sender’s complete name and return address. It will be opened and inspected for contraband. Some of the contents that are considered inappropriate include threats of physical harm, indecent material, polaroid pictures, and cash. Funds may be deposited into an inmate’s account for their personal use. Family and friends may use the lobby kiosk to deposit money or visit the JailATM website. The kiosk is available for use every day from 8am to 8pm.
